This year (2003) marks the 50th anniversary of the UGA Marine Institute on Sapelo Island. A conference designed to record the Institute's contributions to science and society from a variety of perspectives, including those who lived and worked at this remote barrier island facility over the past 50 yrs will be held in November 2003.
